Our biggest hurdle was engaging students when outreach was completely virtual. Our biggest win is seeing a large comeback in our tutoring numbers

In episode one of a two-part interview with Keigh-Cee Bell, Coordinator for the Carole A. Tate Teaching and Learning Center at Southwest Michigan College and founder of the Learning Center Professionals Discord server, we discuss how her center operates and the impact of the pandemic on her staff and students. She shares the techniques, tools, and technology she implemented to bring her staff, students, and faculty together in tough times. Thanks to these efforts, she is seeing a rapid increase in the number of students seeking help from her learning center.

Keigh-Cee has her MFA in Creative Writing from American University and is a former writing consultant and English instructor. She is passionate about institutional technology and working with at-risk populations to help them succeed.
