Writing Center Software for Consultations and Paper Review
Students book a consultation and attach the draft before they arrive. Tutors review papers in person, online, or in writing. Your center’s rules apply to every booking, and the semester numbers are one report away.

The Draft Arrives Before the Student Does
When a student books, they attach the paper and the assignment prompt to the appointment, and the tutor is notified. Notes and files can be added by either side until the session, and the tutor returns the marked-up file the same way.
Tutor and Tutoring can be renamed per center, so your students book a Consultant and your reports say Consultation.
How Writing Center Software Works in Accudemia
A student logs in, picks the service, the course, and a time. You decide how many appointments and how many hours a student can hold per day and per week, how far ahead they can book, and how late they can cancel.
No-shows are recorded automatically when the student does not sign in within your window. A student who passes your limit cannot book again until the count resets, and they are warned on the way there.
Paper review without a meeting
Students who cannot make a live slot submit the paper to the Support Drop Box, with the assignment attached, and pick the service it belongs to. Tutors see the queue of unassigned submissions, take one, and reply in writing. The student is notified at every status change and never has to chase the front desk.
The module can be renamed for your center, for example Online Paper Submission, and switched on for the writing center alone.
Fair load across your tutors
Tutor names can be hidden from students at booking, so appointments spread evenly instead of piling onto one popular consultant. Kilgore College’s Writing Studio books anonymous tutor slots this way and keeps at least two tutors available every hour. Santa Barbara City College hides names across 20 locations for the same reason.
Each tutor’s time block can be set for one student or for a group, with its own subject areas and services.
Drop-ins and the finals-week line
Walk-in students sign in at the desk or join the waiting line from their phone before they arrive, and see their place in it. Traffic Analysis shows your busiest hours of the day and weeks of the term, so finals-week staffing comes from last year’s numbers rather than memory. The daily view compares open slots with booked ones before you add tutor hours.
At sign-in, a student can choose whether the visit is reported to their instructor. Scheduled reports go out on your calendar, and each instructor’s copy can be limited to their own students. Session comments stay private to staff unless you share them.
The Attendance Summary totals visits and time by course, service, and tutor. The College of San Mateo runs its Writing Center on Accudemia alongside six other subject centers and reports on all of them from one place.
Appointment scheduling is part of every Accudemia edition. Paper review through the Support Drop Box comes with the full Accudemia License.
