Queue Management System for Higher Education

A Waiting Line Students Can See
Turn on the waiting line for a center and arrivals queue up instead of signing straight in. The line shows who is waiting, in the order they joined, and who was just called.
Cast it to a monitor in the waiting area and students see their position and expected wait without asking the front desk. At the University of Texas at Dallas, a tutoring room that holds about 120 students runs this way: kiosk sign-in, a QR code on each table, and the queue on monitors around the room.
How the Queue Works for Drop-In Tutoring and Student Services
Students can check a center’s line from the student app or the web, join it remotely, and leave it at any time. Accudemia tells them when their turn is close.
A student who signs in through a virtual link waits in the same line as the students in the room. One queue covers walk-in and online drop-in tutoring.
Staff call students in, with context
At sign-in the student can be asked the reason for the visit. When a tutor is free, staff call the next student and assign the tutor the student asked for, a tutor already signed in, or anyone available.
One tutor can take several students who came for the same course. A student can also be put back in the line, with the visit kept on record.
Tutors can be alerted by email, by text message, or by a tone on screen when a student picks them or is waiting.
Services that should not wait
Mark a service to skip the line. A self-study service, for example, can sign students in directly while tutoring requests queue.
Wait times you can report
The Wait Times report shows the waits recorded at each location. Traffic Analysis shows the busiest hour of the day and the busiest days of the week, which is what staffing decisions need.
Every visit also becomes a session log with the student, tutor, course, and service. Drop-in traffic counts in the same reports as appointments.
Waiting line management is in the Accudemia License and Accudemia Light. The online line that students join remotely comes with the full License.
