Supplemental Instruction Attendance Tracking
Students sign in at the SI session door with an ID or a card swipe. Each sign-in lands on the right course section and SI Leader, and the semester reports are ready when the funding review comes.

Every Session Tied to Its Course Section
An SI session in Accudemia is a scheduled class: one course section, one SI Leader, one weekly time through the term. The roster comes from your student information system, so only students enrolled in that section can sign in.
Each sign-in is recorded as present or absent, with tardy and excused as flags. You set the tardy grace period and the cut-off after which a late arrival counts as absent, once for all sessions or per section.
How SI Attendance Tracking Works in Accudemia
A sign-in station runs in a browser on any computer in the room, or on an iPad or Android tablet with the AccuKiosk app. The student types an ID or swipes a card. No password is needed, and students never sign out: the session’s end time is recorded for them.
The station shows whichever session is taking place in that room, so one tablet can serve a day of back-to-back sessions. An early sign-in window of a few minutes lets students arriving ahead of the SI Leader sign in.
Rosters that stay honest
Only students enrolled in the section can sign in. What happens when someone else tries is your rule: reject the sign-in, hold it for review, record it, or record it and enroll the student.
A mistyped ID is held as a standby record instead of being lost, and staff match it to the right student afterwards. A student who forgot to sign in can be marked present after the session, and a student marked in error can be set back to absent.
Online sessions count the same way
For a session on Zoom or any meeting platform, students open a virtual sign-in link for the classroom. The link shows the session taking place at that moment and accepts sign-ins inside a window you set around the start time, typically five to ten minutes each side. The attendance record is the same as for the room.
Reports for the coordinator, the dean, and the funder
Ten SI attendance reports are built in. They answer who is missing sessions, who is chronically late, who has dropped, and who attended a section they are not enrolled in. An absences list puts each student’s phone number and dropped status next to the count, so outreach starts from the report.
The overall report gives the share of each attendance status alongside the number of canceled sessions. Any report can be scheduled to arrive by email on the schedule you choose, and the attendance record can be downloaded for institutional research to set against final grades.
What faculty see is your call
SI attendance is anonymous to the instructor at most programs, and Accudemia does not change that. Instructors see nothing unless you give them access. You can send a scheduled summary to named people, or let an instructor call the roll for their own section.
The University of Toledo runs SI in three kiosk-equipped rooms and sends the attendance reports to instructors, who award extra credit for attending.
SI and class attendance tracking come with the Accudemia License and Accudemia Light.
