Tracking Student Success
Before Accudemia, the Eli Center for Student-Athletes did not have an efficient way of tracking the days and times that student-athletes were in the center, and they had to work much harder to compile the data they needed. Kyle Jones, the Associate Athletic Director, explains how Accudemia helps them: “We measure success based on the student-athletes’ GPA and eligibility. This system allows us to inform coaches quicker if a student-athlete is not meeting the required time in study hall.
Setting Records Through Accudemia
“We set a record again for the highest GPA in ORU history with an average student-athlete GPA of 3.43 last year!” This success is partly attributed to the role Accudemia plays in developing the student-athlete’s study habits and routines that help them to become successful students. Accudemia adds accountability and communication aspects that strengthen this effort. Staff found the system easy to implement. Jones said, “It filled a need we had in a simple way that increased our productivity.”
“While there isn’t anything magical about study hall, it is helping build a habit and helping them begin to schedule their time in a way that will be critical to their academic success,” said Jones.
