November / December 2012 News

30 November 2012

On behalf of all of us here at Engineerica, I'd like to wish you the best of the holiday season. This is our last update for 2012, so we have a lot to share with you including how to win an iPad mini (or iPod Gigantic as my 8-year old daughter calls it), a Reader Choice Award (thanks to you), a new and complimentary Webinars DVD, our really cool new website, a very special Accudemia Orlando training session, and much more!

By the way, this is the first newsletter that is distributed via our new website.  Subscribe/unsubscribe requests will also be handled by the website as explained at the bottom of this page.

Please make sure to read through this important information. Here is an index of the topics:

Win an Apple iPad mini, Kindle Fire HD, or Other Gift

We are updating our new website with case studies that showcase how the software (AccuTrack, Accudemia, AccuSQL, AccuLite, etc.) is being used at centers like yours.  Help us by sending in a description of how the software made a difference at your center or institution and we will send you a branded thank-you gift.  In addition, the top three submissions will win some cool electronics of their choice as follows:
• First place winner: Get your choice of a new Apple iPad mini 16 GB WiFi, Apple iPod touch 32 GB 5th G, OR Kindle Fire HD 8.9”.
• Second place: Your choice of Nook HD 8GB, Kindle Fire 7" HD WiFi 16 GB, Nexus 7 Wi-Fi 16GB, OR Apple iPod nano 16G.
• Third place: Your choice of Kindle Wi-Fi 6" E Ink Display or Apple iPod Shuffle 2GB.

Not only you are guaranteed to get the branded gift for your submission, but your chances of winning one of the above fabulous gifts is excellent since usually only a few people respond.  So what are you waiting for, start putting together your case study!  For an example case studies, visit: http://www.accutrack.org/about/implementation.htm and http://www.accutrack.org/about/casestudy2.htm

To increase your chances of winning one of the three top prizes, spice up your case study with photos of your center, photos of the sign-in computer, sample reports, and anything else that would show your results.  You may even submit your submission via a YouTube video!  See the Engineerica Systems “Product Satisfaction Case Study” video for more information on this option.

Rules:

  1. Submit your case study document or video by December 31st, 2012 by sending it to info@accutrack.org.
  2. Submissions will be featured on our website. By submitting an entry, you give us permission to publish it.
  3. Each submission will get a branded thank-you gift provided that the submission is suitable for publication on our website.
  4. We will select the top 3 submissions based on their quality, presentation, and originality.  The winners will be notified in early January and asked for their choice of prize from the list above.  The selected prize will be ordered within one week from receiving the winner’s response and shipping address.
  5. Offer could be extended or withdrawn if no qualified entries are received by the submission deadline.

AccuTrack Winner of the UB 2012 Reader's Choice Top Products Award

We are delighted to announce that AccuTrack has been selected to receive the University Business 2012 Readers’ Choice Top Product award.  The award is based on nominations from educators in colleges and universities across the US.  Winners are selected based on both the quantity of nominations and the quality of reader descriptions.  We are honored to receive the award and would like to thank all of you who took the time out of your busy schedule to nominate the software.

The award announcement is published online and also in the December issue of University Business.  The publication included both a product description and this example nomination:

AccuTrack is our only tracking system for tutors and students at the college’s Academic Support Center and I can’t imagine life without it. The system tracks over 22,000 student visits that occur at the center annually. Reports are generated on student and tutor attendance, subjects tutored, and specialized groups. The data is often exported to study the relationship between tutoring and student retention initiatives. The system is user friendly and the technical support from the company is professional, courteous, and timely.” —Debra Weiner, director of tutoring services, Raritan Valley Community College (N.J.)

Again, thanks Debra and all of you who nominated AccuTrack for this prestigious award.

New Wall-Mounted Time Clock Option

We are currently working on adding support for a wall-mounted time clock to capture sign-ins and sign-outs.  This time clock will work with AccuTrack, AccuSQL, AccuLite, Accudemia, and AccuClass.  This is a great option if you want permanent attendance tracking option without using a computer as a sign-in station.  This is perfect for capturing attendance to classrooms for example.

In addition to the keypad, the time clock can have a magnetic stripe reader, a barcode reader, RFID/proximity reader, or a fingerprint scanner!

The time clock can support any of the following communication modes to transfer the attendance data to your server: Ethernet (10/100M), RS232/485, USB, or WiFi.

If you are interested in this new option, please contact us.

Another Successful Conference in the Books for Conference Tracker!

Upon its’ recent release, Conference Tracker has continued to simplify and automate the attendee tracking and CEU calculation process. This is what Tahnee Bowen, event organizer for ArCA Conferences had to say about her experience with the Conference Tracker system:

"We utilized iConf [Conference Tracker iPhone app] for our annual ArCA conference.  I served as the contact for the organization.  The customer service was impeccable!  They provided the training to use their product and spent additional time to ensure that everyone involved were properly trained.  They also offered to hold additional webinars if needed. The staff was available for any questions or problems we had immediately and I didn't even have to listen to a phone menu with an endless list of options.  In addition, they often called back to confirm the issue had been res
olved.  This is a rarity today with many companies.  In addition, this is a company that
cares about their customers.  They were eager to hear feedback in order to make their product more user-friendly for our needs. Kudos to Engineerica for remembering customer service above all!” – Tahnee Bowen

ArCA utilized our most recent iConf ™ and Conference Tracker ™ update, allowing attendees to sign in AND out of sessions using only an Apple device. Conference Tracker handled over 8,000 sign-in and sign-out over a 3-day period for a total of 5,324 hours of attendance. Among our most recent update, Conference Tracker now allows attendees to register straight though the Conference Tracker website!

If you are organizing a conference or an event and would like to track attendance to its sessions, contact us for a complimentary tour of Conference Tracker.
