LA Harbor College Case Study
We are a Community College based in Los Angeles California. Our College Mission: fosters learning through comprehensive programs that meet the educational needs of the community as measured by student success, personal and institutional accountability, and integrity. We are an Achieving the Dream campus. The D.R.E.A.M. stands for (Data, Reform, Equity, Achievement, and Movement); AccuSQL has become an essential part in achieving this goal.
Tracking
We use Engineerica’s software AccuSQL in many different departments throughout our campus. From tracking student attendance, to the progress they make and inventorying the different equipment they use. Addition to tracking those services we also use it to track the student workers we employee, the times they report to work, time spent with students and the productivity they have on their assigned tasks.
Reporting
AccuSQL has a very versatile reporting system. We use it to validate that the minimum requirements have been met to attain a grade for many different labs and classes, as evidence for state and federal audit purposes. We track the trends and attendance of any given service, equipment or class and use this information to evaluate whether or not they might need modification.
Ease of use
AccuSQL is fairly easy to use and the Tech Support people at Engineerica Systems, Inc. are friendly and knowledgeable. With their help we were able to import our existing student database into the system and set it to automatically update on a weekly bases. This is extremely valuable as we have over 9,000 students on our campus and we did not have to manually input them all over again. We use the bar code scanner at our school, which has proven to be very useful. The students can simply scan their college ID to login saving time from having to manually enter their student ID. The picture to above is an example of one of our sign-in stations. There are special features that our faculty members enjoy as well, such as receiving email updates from students and tutors sent through the AccuSQL reporting and feedback system, being able to pull an array of reports into a PDF format that they can review later when they are at home doing their grades. Over all we are very happy with Engineerica AccuSQL system and would recommend it to others for use.
