Decolonizing Learning Centers online Workshop video

Engineerica Systems, Inc. hosted an interactive two-hour virtual workshop, facilitated by expert Dr. Torri Staton, Director of Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction of North Carolina Central University.

She was the 2019 Postdoctoral Fellow with we are (working to extend anti-racist education) in Durham, NC, and is currently a we are Board Member. She also teaches a course on Race, Racism, and Racial Equity at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is an equity-focused scholar and higher education professional who uses narrative analyses to study the social and cultural intertwining of American education and American popular culture. She has served as an educator in various capacities, including as a Teacher, Advisor, Retention Counselor, Mentor, and Professor. She is a daughter, a sister, a friend, a dog mom, a music enthusiast, and an avid film watcher.  She resides in Durham, North Carolina.

This live interactive online workshop will examine the vocabulary and historical context that contributes to the equity and inclusion of our learning centers while understanding our roles in creating more accessibility in our learning spaces.
